In the Efficiency Scenario, and due to longer travelling times, passenger mobility by ship does not reach significant relative weights. A greater share of mobility by train is proposed, backed by STS and with a road system that optimises the connections with the existing railway network.
Moreover, mobility by plane is reduced to the minimum and replaced by other means with a greater possibility of renewable resources usage such as rail, capable of competing with air transport in both time and service.
Mobility by road is fully electrified, backed by an STS that accommodates the size of vehicles to the demand for mobility and reaches high occupation levels. There is a strong transition from private to collective transport, which includes not only public transport, but all the situations in which vehicles offering mobility services are shared.
