With the results of the demand scenarios for mobility and specific consumption, we obtain the resulting energy consumption scenarios to meet the total demand for mobility of travellers in both scenarios. At the end of the energy demand scenario, the Efficiency Scenario represents one third of the energy of BAU.
The car dominates urban demand for mobility in the BAU Scenario, which, moreover, runs on fuel. In the Efficiency Scenario this weight is shifted towards the bus. In this scenario cars, motorcycles and buses are integral elements of a single STS, which adjusts the size of the vehicle to the characteristics of the demand for mobility. All vehicles are electric.
The demand for intercity mobility in the BAU Scenario is characterised by the growth of the aeroplane mode, which ends up being dominant, with road in second place. In the Efficiency Scenario the dominant mode is road, which, along with rail, is able to gradually displace the aeroplane.
