2.4.1
HOUSE

In single family houses (detached, semi-detached etc.) the total savings achieved in consumption are around 80% -85%, mainly due to the building's reduced consumption and the high efficiency of heat pumps.

The graphs show the final energy consumption structure in two extreme climatic locations: Almería and Burgos, for the BAU and Efficiency Scenarios. While in the BAU Scenario the highest energy demand corresponds to the coldest province in winter with a demand of 157 kWh/m2 -a, in the Efficiency Scenario the demand in this province is reduced to 25kWh/m2 -a.

As we progress towards an Efficiency Scenario it becomes clear that installations constitute the main component in energy consumption; in the case of Almería they represent 79% of consumption and in the case of Burgos 60% due to its higher heating demand.
