In blocks of flats savings can reach 80%. In locations with cold winters savings rates in heating are close to 97%. This is mainly due to the reduction in the building's consumption and the great efficiency of heat pumps.

 

The graphs show the final energy consumption structure in two extreme climatic locations, Almería and Burgos, for the BAU and Efficiency Scenarios. In a BAU Scenario the highest total consumption corresponds to the province with the coldest winters.

 

In an Efficiency Scenario the demand in this province falls even below the warmest province, mainly due to the reduced need for heating.

 

In an Efficiency Scenario, regardless of the climatic area chosen, the biggest energy consumption of this type of building comes from its installations: 72% in Almería and 74% in Burgos of the building's total energy consumption.
